To propagate learner centred education by provision of psychological counseling and guidnnce services supporting inclusive education.

To assist educational authorities in planning and co-ordination of in-service educational programmes for elementary teachers and serve as reference and source center for teachers who wish to continue their education.

To prepare the educational plans of the district to cover the population of out of school children and database and monitor the quality and efficiency of NFE functionaries

to prepare annual institutional plans, calendar, other programmes of the institution and provide technical assistance to educational authorities in school mapping, micro planning, etc.,​

To provide ET related inputs into all other programmes and activities of the institute and conduct workshops

To develop curriculum related to primary education and suggest methods, techniques for continuous comprehensive evaluation of primary school students and to conduct in-service training courses on CCE.

To help educational authorities and elementary schools in organizing work experience activities in schools and promote work related hobbies among the trainees of the institute.​
